Yves Saint Laurent
Film-biography of the famous couturier Yves Saint Laurent starts in Moscow. Chronicle of his professional takeoff – first as Dior’s chief designer, and then as the founder of his own model house together with his partner in life and profession, Pierre Berge. The film is a traditional biographical picture from a young director and actor Jalil Lhesper and the first truly stellar output of Pierre Nina in the title role.
Documentary Film Festival in Sheffield, UK is one of the largest and most significant in the world. Five films from the festival’s program will be shown in Moscow. The films represent different facets of the festival and modern British documentary.
The festival runs in Documentary Film Center.
Matvey Dobrov. Forgotten Classic
More than a hundred works by almost forgotten Russian artist who worked in etchings technique – engraving on metal, are presented in Tretyakovskaya Gallery at Krimsky Val. The exhibition will show the most expressive series – birds and zebras, which appeared after the artist’s visit to the Paris Zoo, near-Moscow landscapes and the province life of the last century.
Gordon Parks. American story
Exhibition of the outstanding reportage photographer of the last century runs in New Manege. Gordon Parks is a famous American photographer, musician, poet, writer, journalist, filmmaker and activist who fought for civil rights of African-American population in America. He was one of the first black photographer shooting for Life, Vogue and Glamour, and the first African-American director in white Hollywood.
Large-scale festival of extreme sports runs in «Olimpiysky» on Saturday, March 22. Drifting, FMX, freestyle snowmobiling, mountain biking and other exciting sights are in the festival’s program. Visitors will see unforgettable stunts on motorcycles, snowmobiles, cars, bicycles and rollers – from the world’s best riders at one stage.
