The Moscow Metro – MCC – MCD – everything about capital’s subway

The Moscow Metro was opened in 1935 and became one of the USSR’s most extravagant architectural projects. That’s why most of the central underground stations look like a museum. Each of them has its own mood, different decorations and fascinating story. For example Mayakovskaya and some other central stations were used as air-raid shelters during the Siege of Moscow in the fall and winter of 1941.
