International Museum Festival Intermuseum is a huge event for all those involved in museums: professionals and visitors. This is one of the main cultural events in Russia, aimed to support and develop domestic museums. This year’s festival will be held from June 11 to 15 in the Central Exhibition Hall Manezh. The venue will gather exhibits from more than 270 museums in Russia, CIS and Europe.
The structure of the festival consists of the main exhibition, the business program for professionals, as well as children’s and cultural programs for visitors of the festival. Guests will be able to visit numerous lectures, discussions and round tables, special children’s programs, as well as performances and live music concerts. Intermuseum 2015 promises to be a special space where you can watch and learn, exchange experiences.

MOTHERLAND SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

Best Russian bands, fresh air, dancing, Frisbee, boules, designer fair, ice cream and soft drinks, burgers and tacos – everything for a relaxing or active holiday – awaits you at the festival of New Russian Music Motherland Summer. The open-air runs every summer and gathers dozens of independent music groups, from indie rock, Twi-pop and post-punk to abstract hip-hop and experimental electronics. The mission of the festival is to support and promote the new Russian performers.
You will see performances and listen to music by young Russian musical bands Pompeya, The Retuses, Obe Dve, Super Besse, Jack Wood, Xuman, Sirotkin and others.
There will be also organized a market with musical instruments, vinyl records, fashionable clothes from Russian designers and, of course, a food court, with participation of young gastronomic projects.

BOOK FEST IN SOKOLNIKI

On June 12, Sokolniki Park will hold the first Moscow International Festival of Contemporary Literature dedicated to the Year of literature in Russia. Well-known Russian and foreign writers: Bernard Werber, Michael Weller, Zakhar Prilepin, Mariam Petrosyan and others will come to the festival.
It will be possible to listen to author’s lectures, attend workshops, buy new books at the mini-market and listen to jazz at the open air. The book market will work untill June 14.

GEEK PICNIC

GEEK PICNIC, Europe’s largest festival of science, technology and art will be held in Moscow on June 13-14 in the Krasnaya Presnya Park. Scientific outdoor festival Geek Picnic gathers scientific inventions, robots , gadgets and art together . 60 lectures about artificial intelligence, hybrid art, urban planning, bionics, aerospace, futurology, 3D-animation, psychology, anthropogenesis are in the program. In addition, visitors will see amazing art objects – from the four-meter inflatable metal tree to a giant six-ton metal hand show. On the first day, you can attend first conference of cyborgs – people with bionic prostheses. One of them, drummer Jason Barnes, later to play on the main stage.

The Garage Museum of Contemporary Art has moved to a new building – the former site of the Four Seasons restaurant, and immediately presents eight exhibitions! Among are special creation by Eric Bulatov and a picturesque installation by Katharina Grosse, as well as the first Russian solo exhibition of Yayoi Kusama. Her recent installation is brought to Moscow – illusory rooms, which question the familiar spatial reference points.
Opening of the new Garage to the public will be held on Friday, June 12. Admission to all events is free. There will be three sessions at 15:00, 17:00 or 19:00. Online registration is already closed so you will have to stand in a queue or buy a museum club card for 2000 (€20.15).
