Journey to Christmas
The center of Moscow will turn to a Christmas on December 12. That day a «Journey to Christmas» Festival starts. It will last during a whole month, until January 11.
Specially created routes will allow you to visit the central venues of the festival and fully enjoy its main theme – tales of the world. Christmas Tale will take place on the main streets of Moscow, in the parks and boulevards, as well as in Zelenograd and Troitsk. All the main pedestrian areas such as Belorechenskaya Street, Bolshaya Ordynka Street, Stoleshnikov Lane, Arbat and many other streets of Moscow will become magical.
Small chalets with various treats – hot drinks, sweets, cakes, toys and souvenirs from all over Russia and the world wait for the guests. Such Christmas fairs can be found not only in the central part of the city, but also in all districts of Moscow.
The program of the «Journey to Christmas» Festival includes mass festivities, light installations and art objects, musicians, ice shows and street.
In addition, everyone will be able to visit Europe’s largest skating rink, which will work at VDNKh, visit the city of gnomes and fairyland of Christmas angels, look for presents at the bazaar, have a ride on camels and three horses with bells, and try their strength in traditional folk winter fun.
EXHIBITION-CONSTRUCTOR «MY MOSCOW/COVERED WITH SNOW»

The Museum of Moscow will hold an exhibition-constructor «My Moscow / Covered with Snow» from December 12 to 14. The program includes exhibition-installation, master classes, lectures, games, interactive performances and a gift fair.
The main theme of the event is decoration of streets and home. You will be able to create a gift with their own hands at the exhibition with the help of teachers from Moscow art schools and art groups that will hold master classes and games. You will be able to learn how to make origami, postcards and Christmas decorations.
Ticket price is 200 rubles.

New Year Fairs
A great amount of markets and fairs have flooded Moscow in anticipation of the Ney Year and Christmas holidays.
This weekend you will also have an opportunity to visit a couple of them, buying gifts, listening to music, participating in master classes and enjoying other festive attractions. Thus, Design Factory Flacon (Bolshaya Novodmitrovskaya St. 36) will host a designer market «Different Things». Sokolniki (5 Luchevoy prosek, 7) will host a charity fair «Soulful Bazaar» and one of the parks cafes – Sea Inside – organizes a family festival «Banana Christmas Tree». The main Moscow store – GUM also opens a fair this weekend.
RUSSIAN OPEN DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL «ARTDOCFEST»

Russian Open Documentary Film Festival «Artdocfest» is the largest festival of documentary films in the country. Russian-language films that have been shot at any location of the world not earlier than 18 months before the beginning of the Festival can take part in the competition program and noncompetition program Sreda. The festival presents only films that have not been shown publicly on the territory of Russia. It also has a non-competition retrospective programs and special screenings that include films shot in foreign languages.
This year, the festival is more politically radical than ever. The Artdocfest position is exactly opposite to television one. Authors reveal their documentary films about Ukraine, Transnistria, LGBT movement and political events of the year, that are shown on TV in a different way. Besides the works that resonate with today’s agenda, powerful films about heart surgery, village Zvizzhi, Russian rock group «Auction», Olympic Games and many other stories could be seen during the festival.
