This weekend offers several cycling programs – a wonderful opportunity to enjoy nice autumn weather, spending your time healthy and pleasurably.
BIKE PARADE «LET’S BIKE IT!»
A grand celebration of a Car Free Day will be held on September 27 at the Boulevard Ring. One of the main parts of this event is a big cycling program!
At 12:00, parents with children in bike seats are invited, to take part in the Family Bike parade. In addition to riding at the Boulevard Ring –
free of cars that day – children and their parents will take part in various competitions and entertainment with prizes.
At 13.00 a bike-quest « Beware of the car » will start. The participants will gather on Turgenevskaya Square, opposite the Chistye Prudy Metro station. Participants will be invited to walk through the pages of history related to urban transport, solve puzzles and perform interesting tasks. Participation is free and the prize fund is 35 000 rubles!
The cycling program also includes a race on folding bikes that will start at 14.00.! The purpose of the race is to show that a folding bike can be an excellent alternative means of transport and to have some fun.
There also will be a lecture «How to organize your bike tour» by curator of Let’s bike it! Project – Vladimir Kumov. In 2010, he had a bike tour from St. Petersburg to Lisbon, and in 2012-2014 years – from Mexico to Argentina.
There will also be a bike show and market on the Boulevard Ring.
PUSHKIN VELONOTTE
Eighth Moscow Velonotte – night bike ride – is dedicated to Alexander Pushkin. On Saturday night (September 27 to 28) Velonotte will explore the city of Pushkin – architecture, style, poetry and friendship. The nicest places in Moscow – magic Ivanovskaya slide, noble Basmannie Streets, ancient Arbat, fashionable Prechistenka, intelligent Airport and, of course, Tverskaya Street will become the heroes of the night.
Leading historians and Pushkin scholars from Russia and abroad will be Velonotte’s speakers. You will be able to hear a live webcast of the event on the radio station «Mayak».
If you want to take part in the event, you should make a pre-paid registration: adult fee is 250 rubles (€5), child’s fee is 195 rubles (€4). In case of payment right before the start, the fee will be 500 rubles (€10) for adults and 400 rubles (€8) for children.
