The ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation offers to take fingerprints of all foreigners who require a visa to enter the country from July 1, 2014.
Officials consider that the new law will help in the fight against crime and terrorism in Russia. Besides, this global practice is one of the best ways to control illegal migration. Exceptions will be made in case of a short, three-day trip or travelling to cultural events.
The pilot project of the law will start at the Russian Embassy in the UK, Denmark, Myanmar, Namibia and also at the border check point in Moscow airport «Vnukovo».
