Summer season in Moscow parks will begin on May 1. This day, rental points, summer cafes, terraces and other objects of parks’ infrastructure will open.
Free lectures and courses for visitors – dance classes, language lessons, and outdoor sports training, will also launch at this time. Also, within the Year of the Russian Cinema parks will organize free film screenings, meetings with actors and directors, workshops and lectures.
In addition to the celebration of state and citywide holidays – Victory Day, Russia Day, City Day and others -, the Department of Culture in Moscow launches the festival Cultural Weekend. Thus, on Saturdays and Sundays cultural events, such as concerts, literary readings, theater performances will be held in the city parks.
Furthermore, several swimming and recreation areas will appear in Moscow this season. The new zones will become available in Terletskaya Dubrava Park, the Khimki Reservoir and near the Krasnogvardeiskie ponds in the center of Moscow.
The water recreation areas will have boat stations to hire boats and catamarans, a platform for dances and events, children’s and sports playgrounds, as well as bicycle and jogging paths.
