The annual festival Moscow Spring launched in the city on April 22. During almost three weeks the capital will turn into a blooming carnival. A bit controversial, but, undoubtedly impressing decorations have appeared in the central streets of Moscow. Flower arches, giant Easter eggs, ornate fair chalets and peculiar sculptures aim to bring the spring mood to the city. Besides, there will be master classes, quests, dances, performances, exhibitions and other entertainment. In total, 26 festival grounds, each devoted to a particular theme and decorated in the original style, will open in different parts of Moscow.
The central theme of this year’s festival is Stories of Remarkable People. Such a broad theme allowed organizers to devote different venues of the festival to epic heroes, artists, inventors, Orthodox saints and many others.
Another topic of the festival is the awakening of nature. Squares, parks, pedestrian streets and avenues of the capital are decorated with original sculptures from plants and flowers. For example, Pushkinskaya Square hot a 5-meter figure of a girl-spring.
The most unusual project within the Moscow Spring Festival is Eco-schools on Tverskoy Boulevard. Here you can learn the secrets of gardening, play field hockey, and jump on the trampoline.
Furthermore, anyone can become a member of an exciting urban quest. Answering the questions, you receive a special sticker and a coin with the symbol of the festival, which can then be exchanged for a beautiful arrangement of flowers.
