Night at The Skating Rink will take place in Moscow parks on February 27. The action will continue a series of nightly events held by Moscow Department of Culture, such as The Museum Night, The Arts Night, The Theatre Night and The Music Night.
The first Night at the Rink will be devoted to cinematography. Visitors will be able to do ice skating to the music from movies and DJ sets, witness flash mobs or take part in a themed photo session.
The Night at the Rink will pass on February 27 from 19:00 to 23:00. Visitors will enjoy the free entrance to the ice rinks in the Gorky Park, the Hermitage Garden, the Bauman’s Garden, Krasnaya Presnya, Sokolniki, Izmailovo, Tagansky, Goncharovsky, Fili and Vorontsovsky parks, as well as other parks devoted to the Moscow Department of Culture. You will find the full list of the action’s venues at Mosgorpark’s site (only in Russian).
Though entrance to the ice rinks will be free, you should pay for skate rental and additional services as usual.
According to the director of Mosgorpark Marina Lyulchuk, the inclusion of parks at night cultural events is the logical continuation of the city traditions, especially since ice skating has become one of the most favorite urban winter activities. In the winter season 2015-2016, 800 thousand people have visited the skating rinks. Therefore, the last Saturday of winter will be the time for The Night at the Rink. The action should become an annual event.
