From October 21 to 25, Moscow will host Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, SpringSummer 2016. The event takes place at different locations around the city for presentations and fashion shows, but the main venue is the Central Manege, located in a few steps from Red Square and the Kremlin.
MBFW Russia will showcase collections from over 70 designers from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Italy, Turkey, China and other countries.
The most renowned Russian fashion designer Slava Zaitsev traditionally opens Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, which celebrated its 30th season in March 2015.
MBFW Russia lineup represents the best Russian and ex-Soviet Union Russian designers: Alena Akhmadullina, VIVA VOX, Yasya Minochkina (Ukraine), Yulia Nikolaeva, Pirosmani by Jenya Malygina, Igor Gulyaev, MASTERPEACE, Julia Dalakian, Goga Nikabadze (Georgia) and many others. International program will include the following runway shows: evening gowns from Tarik Ediz (Turkey) and feminine looks from Tony Ward.
Among the talented new-comers supported by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are: IVKA, KETIone, Madina Varisova, Tako Mekvabidze (Georgia), IVANOVA, Eka Balanchivadze (Georgia), ARAIDA and others.
For the second time MBFW Russia is involved in one more important event: WearABLE Future. WearABLE Future is a collection of clothes specially designed for people with special needs, elderly people and everyone who has mobility limitations. This project was performed by the international fashion and accessories contest for handicapped people Bezgraniz Couture and British Higher School of Design. Actors from the Theatre of Open-Hearted, girls in wheelchairs, champions of Paralympic Games and other models will be on the catwalk to demonstrate this collection.
