The State Tretyakov Gallery undergoes many changes, in order to make the gallery even more convenient to visitors. Thus, entrance to the Tretyakov Gallery at Krymsky Val will be free on Wednesdays until the end of the summer. Moreover, since June 12, the gallery’s operating mode has changed. On Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, the museum is open from 10.00 to 19:30 and on Fridays and Saturdays – from 12.00 to 21:00. Monday is day off.
The gallery’s historic building and the Engineers Corps in Lavrushinsky Lane are also open until 21:00 on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
The Tretyakov Gallery has attracted world experts already working with major museums to develop the new concept of the gallery. Currently, international US-based Boston Consulting Group is working on marketing and attracting resources to the gallery.
Today the gallery has two major areas: historic building in Lavrushinsky Lane and Central House of Artists at Krimsky Val. By 2018, the Tretyakov Gallery will join another object at Kadashevskaya embankment.
Presently, the building of the Tretyakov Gallery at Krymsky Val is changing the information and navigation system, as well as the interior and furniture, which has not been updated for about ten years.
There will appear modern navigation pointers, mobile racks, information signs, LED light boxes. In addition, it is expected that the new system will be made in three languages: Russian, English and Chinese.
