COMING INTO FASHION: A CENTURY OF PHOTOGRAPHS AT CONDÉ NAST

MAMM presents the unique project, which includes iconic pictures of the greatest fashion photographers of the XX-XXI centuries from archives of the legendary publishing house Condé Nast in New York, Paris, Milan and London within the Moscow International biennale «Fashion and style 2015». Besides, the exposition includes original VOGUE pages of different years, allowing to get acquainted with creativity of more than 80 star photographers from the very beginning of their career until the triumph and international recognition.
The exhibition tells about the beginning of fashion-photo gold era, which opened names of to the world Horst P. Horst, Man Ray, Edward Steichen, Cecil Biton, Ervin Blyumenfeld to the world. The era that began cooperation of world photo stars and legendary editors of Condé Nast publishing house, such as Alexander Lieberman, Diana Vriland, Franca Sozzani, etc.
The project «Coming into Fashion: A Century of Photographs at Condé Nast» illustrates changes of beauty standards through time and suggests thinking about the future of the fashion-photography.

AT CINEMA. AT LAST: DIRECTOR’S CUT WEEKEND

The Pioneer Cinema presents Director’s Cut weekend within the cycle «At Cinema. At Last». On March 27, there will be shown the final director’s cut of Blade Runner by Ridley Scott – one of the main fantastic movies of the XX century, the revolutionary screen version of Filip Dick’s novel. Pioner Cinema will show the final director’s version of the picture.
On March 28, you will be able to see Once Upon a Time in America – one of the main epics of the XX century, the life long criminal saga, a masterpiece and the last film of the great Italian director Sergio Leon. This version lasts for 22 minutes longer: episodes, which had been cut out before, entered it now. Martin Scorsese directed the process of restoration.
Movies will be shown in English with Russian subtitling.
Every month within one week-end guests of the Pioneer Cinema can watch a selection of the classical pictures united by the general subject, style or a name of the director within the cycle «At Cinema. At Last». These movies have not been released in Russian movie rental before. However, it is never late to see them on the big screen for the first time or to rediscover these familiar pictures.

EXHIBITION «THE HOUSE AT BIG SADOVAYA STREET»

State Museum of M.A. Bulgakov in Moscow presents an exhibition «The House at Big Garden Street». It opens on Friday, March 27. This exhibition tells about people who lived in this famous house: 111 years of history, 53 apartments, tens of families, whose fates were connected with it.
Visitors will be able to see not only the list of famous names, but also a large-scale archival work, fascinating experience of basic research of everyday life of one Moscow house. The purpose of the exhibition is to show that cultural heritage is important and fascinating to study.
The central part of an exposition is the interactive model of the house, which occupies one of the museum rooms. Having entered this ‘toy’ house, visitors will be able to switch on lights in windows, to look into them, to see faces of the house’s inhabitants, independently operating this working time machine.
The exhibition will last until September 26.

shnit International Shortfilmfestival aims to promote short films as an independent art form and to present them to broader audience. Thus, every year, festival’s program includes films of 40 minutes maximum length and of any genre – fiction, documentary, animation and experimental films.
SHNIT MOOD 2014 is a spring collection of the kindest, impudent and ridiculous short films from the competitive program of the shnit International Shortfilmfestival 2014. Spring edition of the festival in Moscow will wake up feelings in viewers and will show eight short films about love, happiness and dreams.

EARTH HOUR

Earth Hour is the international action, when supporters of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) turn off the lights and electrical appliances for one hour as a sign of concernment in future of our planet. Backlight of the most famous buildings and monuments in the world will be turned off at the same time.
Thus, backlight at 820 buildings in Moscow will be shut down this year. Lights will be out at buildings at Novy Arbat Street, Kutuzovsky Prospect, Tverskaya Street, Leningradsky Prospect, the Garden Ring, the Boulevard Ring, Nikolskaya and Bolshaya Yakimanka streets and others, as well as 10 bridges across the Moscow River and at all seven Stalin skyscrapers.
Everyone can join Earth Hour by turning off lights and electrical appliances for one hour from 20.30 to 21.30. You can also take part in a bike ride and a flashmob, dedicated to Earth Hour in Moscow.
