Prices on accommodation in Moscow hotels of rose in by 5–30%. January 2015, according to results of research made by JLL International Consulting Company.
Published tariffs in many hotels have increased since January 2015: from 5% at the hotels attracting more price-sensitive demand to 30% and even higher at ‘five stars’ places.
Analysts note that prices have grown more at chain hotel brands. At the same time, independent and private hotels have not raised tariffs yet. However, according to experts, they will soon be compelled to change price tags too.
It is explained by the fact that food prices have grown by 20–30%, thus vegetables and fruits have risen in price by 70%, wines — by 25–40% and cleaning and detergents — approximately by 30%. Experts say that hotel owners have no choice and will rise prices. Even though they would not want to increase low season tariffs at the conjuncture of the decreasing demand practically all have expenses in dollars and euro.
