Center for Contemporary Art «Garage» launches film screenings on contemporary art.
«Art in the Twenty-first Century» is a popular PBS documentary series featuring the top hundred most influential contemporary artists. Among these are such important figures as Marina Abramovic, Matthew Barney, Louise Bourgeois, Ai Weiwei, William Kentridge, Barbara Kruger, Jeff Koons, Bruce Nauman, Richard Serra, and Cindy Sherman.
Each episode deals with a specific theme, such as «Place», «Consumption», «History», etc., and features interviews with three of four contemporary artists with different approaches to art, whose work is relevant to these themes.
The «Art in the Twenty-first Century» program includes screenings, Open Workshops, and Teens Cinema Club sessions. A short lecture by a member of the Education Department accompanies each screening.
Films will be shown in English with Russian subtitles, each Thursday at 19:30 and Saturday at 17:00. The program will last untill October 18. Free entry.
