The VDNKh complex (former All-Russian Exhibition Center), has experienced a large renovation during last few years. This week it marks 75 years. The central event of the celebrations is the opening the Green Theatre – built in 1954. The auditorium can accommodate up to 5000 people. In the Soviet period, it hosted performances by many big artists like Leonid Utesov. In the last twenty years, the concert venue was in ruins so that the trees had grown through the seats. The green theatre restoration will be celebrated by a three-day free concert.
The first day (August 1) of opening is devoted to classics and jazz. Jazz ensembles and symphony orchestra «Russian Philharmonic» and Nino Katamadze will play on the scene.
On August 2, rock music will be played at the Green Theatre. Russian musicians Maxim Leonidov, Eugeniy Margulis and Boris Grebenshikov with «Aquarium» will perform.
On August 3, the opening concert turns on the world music: you can listen to Peter Nalitch, a member of the «Voices» show – Sevara and Georgian musicians «Mgzavrebi», playing didgerida, panduri and flutes.
Admission to all concerts is free. The concerts start on August 1 – at 15.00; on August 2 and 3–at 18.00.
