Moscow Museum is one of the oldest museums in the city. Founded in 1896 it is now located in Provision warehouses, an architectural monument of the first half of the XIX century.
The exhibition “Moscow-Gauthier Dyufaye” represents historic photographs of Moscow streets, alleys and squares, made one hundred years ago by Emile Vladimirovich Gauthier-Dyufaye, Russian philanthropist, member of the Imperial Moscow Archaeological Society and the Russian Photographic Society.
The photographs made in 1912-1914 represent views of real Moscow streets and alleys, some special charm of everyday life. Contemporary images of the same places will be placed next to each work.
