The grand opening of the renovated exhibition of Moscow Planetarium – «Meteorites – guests from heaven» will take place on January 17at 15.15 on the first level of the museum «Urania»
There will be shown rare stones that have fallen on our planet in different historical epochs. For example, visitors will be able to see the meteorite Dronino – an ancient meteorite that fell on Earth before the XVII century. it gave the world the samples of substances not included in any known meteorites chemical groups.
One of the most interesting pieces of the new collection is a huge meteorite Seimchan. This giant weighs 1.5 tons! It was found in the Magadan region in 1967.
In addition, guests will see the meteorite fragments that fell in Chelyabinsk less than a year ago. Visitors will be able to get acquainted with the unique «space alien» – our contemporary.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Moscow Planetarium.
