INSPIRED BY ROME. SALVATOR ROSA AND GASPARD DUFHET EXHIBITION

In Artibus Foundation presents an exhibition of paintings and drawings by Salvator Rosa (1615–1673) and Gaspard Dughet (1615–1675). The exhibition will celebrate the 400th anniversary of the birth of two outstanding masters of the XVII century.
For the first time in Moscow, visitors will see about fifty works united by the theme of the Eternal city, the interest in the great heritage of ancient culture and the love to the beautiful landscapes of the ancient Latium and the Roman Campagna.
The exhibition will be accompanied by an academic conference, organized with the support of the State Institute for Art Studies (Russia, Moscow) – the leading Russian center for comprehensive research in the field of arts, both Russian and foreign.
The exhibition will open on November 27, 2015.

WATCH ME MOVE EXHIBITION

The exhibition Watch Me Move: Legends and faces of the world animation at VDNH, devoted to the history of animation will be organized in the pavilion #15. The exhibition will introduce the most important names of the world animation – from the authors of the first black-and-white experimental cartoons to the leaders of the new wave of animated art house. The exhibition will include the best releases of the major animation studios such as Walt Disney, Warner Bros., Aardman, Pixar, Ghibli.
Each of the seven thematic sections of the exhibition aims to present the art of animation as a phenomenon of emotional reflex, a reaction to the historical trauma, revolution of technologies, war of ideologies, forced the rhythm of everyday life and as the experience of the collective memory creation.
Watch Me Move illustrates the “superpowers” of animation as a form of art, potential freedom of expression through allegory. Cartoon is a way to spread the truth in times of censorship and prevent the recurrence of tragedies, educating a new generation.

OPENING OF THE SKATING RINK AT VDNKH

On 27 November the visitors to VDNH will be able to enjoy the colorful procession and the performance of the Olympic champions dedicated to the opening of the second season of the Main skating rink of the country! At 17:00 the rink starts working and the opening ceremony is at 20:00. The program includes the theatrical parade of circus acrobats, drummers and ice ballet. More than 150 performers participating! At the end you will enjoy the performances of Aleksey Yagudin and the couple of Tatiana Tot’myanina and Maksim Marinin. The masters of the ceremony are Ilya Averbukh and Aleksey Yagudin.
This winter, the largest skating rink with an artificial surface will stretch on the main alley – from the pavilion #1 «Central» to the pavilion #58 “Agriculture”. Going round the fountains “Friendship of the Peoples” and “Stone Flower” VDNH’s skating rink actually takes more than 20 000 sq. m.
And if you take into account its infrastructure, the total area will be 60 000 square meters! 4500 people can skate at the skating rink of VDNH at the same time. Those not skating confidently will always be helped by the instructors. Just like last year the rink will be decorated with the picturesque bridge – a place for dating and selfie.
VDNH’s skating rink will operate daily except Monday with a break for technical servicing from 15:00 till 17:00.

An official Decompression event of the legendary Burning Man Festival will take place in Moscow on November 28. Every year, at a bottom of a dried up salt lake bed in Black Rock City, Nevada, the Burning Man Festival gathers the most peculiar representatives of the creative underground community of the planet. Decompression is a traditional yearly event that helps to recreate and keep alive the vibes of the Burning Man Festival. It unites those who have already been to the Playa, those who intend to go and those who dream about attending a Burn.
At the heart of the festival are 10 basic principles: Radical Inclusion, Gifting, Decommodification, Radical Self Reliance, Radical Self Expression, Communal Effort, Civic Responsibility, Leave No Trace, Participation and Immediacy.
This year, you will hear the residents of the American Festival DJ Tennis, TIMUJIN and Jon Charnis, and about two dozen of local DJs like Andrei Oid, Marymoon, Timur Omar, Nikita Zabelin, CultKitchen and others. In addition to the musical part, there will be visual one – performances and installations of Russian artists.
Location, as always, will be announced the day before the party.

GUM SKATING RIM OPENING

This weekend, the main Moscow skating ring will open along with a Christmas fair. On the opening day, famous hockey player Alexei Yashinn will hold masterclasses, and everyone will be able to take part in them. Then there will be a Children’s Bandy Championship.
The outdoor skating rink on the Red Square has an area of 3 thousand square meters. The rink’s capacity is 500 people per session. Even at zero temperature the ice rink will remain in good condition due to the new cooling equipment. For public skating ice will be cleaned after each use, so that each guest could enjoy the Red Square skating in full.
Traditionally, there will be New Year’s Fair pavilions near the ice rink. there you will be able to buy a lot of souvenirs and delicious treats. Every Tuesday and Thursday two stages will hold jugglers and musicians’ performances. This year the fair will last until February 29.
