Despite the vacation period and some lull in the capital’s cultural life, there are still many ways to entertain yourself in Moscow at the weekend. Numerous outdoor events will let you fully enjoy these warm summer days off.
FESTIVALS IN THE MOSCOW PARKS
Mosgorpark site
The Gorky Park will hold a Youth Day. The festival had to be spend last weekend, but weather conditions had put a crimp in it. On Saturday, the forecast is favorable, so everybody is invited to the celebrations. There will be many activities such as longboard, roller skating and lower break lessons. Olympic champions will conduct exercises for fitness lovers.
Neskuchniy Garden offers its own program with a cartoons open-air festival Insomnia. There will be two large screens, lectures, fairs and diving into a parallel reality to the best-animated shorts from around the world.
The Sokolniki Park will celebrate The Day of Love, Friendship and Fidelity this weekend. There will pass different outdoor activities such as Zumba, Club Dance and Jazz Funk lessons, yoga classes, sports races, family games and fun contests. Visitors will take part in educational quizzes and quests.
The Fili Park has prepared some charitable events for the holiday. It will be possible to take part in sports and recreational activities, get a free consultation on psychological and legal questions regarding family relationships. The park offers participating in charity athletics and interesting workshops, watching a concert and bright and colorful fireworks.

Last year’s Outline Festival presented to Muscovites and city guests an absolutely fabulous space: with beds in the woods, projections among the trees and concerts in the wonderful “sun” and the musical scene inside a huge cube-club. This year’s festival promises to be even better. Andy Stott, Felix Kubin, Ricardo Villalobos, Demdike Stare, Richard Fearless, Nina Kravitz, Egyptian Lover and Daniel Avery are just a little part of the participants.
Starting on the 4th of July, the two-day event will take place in a soon-to-be-demolished mechanical plant known for producing distinctive objects for architecture icons of Post–World War II Moscow, and will host 5 stages of advanced electronic music and art.

BACK TO THE 60’s FESTIVAL

Back to the 60’s Festival will host to stages where famous bands and DJs will play hot rhythms. Visitors will be able to find occupation for any taste – demonstrate dances to boogie-woogie, swing and rock ‘n’ roll, buy vintage things and vinyl at a market. It will be possible to not only replenish their collections, but also listen to DJs playing vinyl.
The most exciting domestic bands playing surf, garage and soul will perform at the festival of music and style.
Among the foreign guests of the festival are young Portuguese band TT Syndicate and elegant French Boutik, revived the aesthetics and spirit of the French pop music of the 60s adjusted for true British sound.

THE KREMLIN RIDING SCHOOL PERFORMANCE

Vorontsovo Estate invites Muscovites and city guests to the demonstration performances of the Kremlin Riding School. The team will present a program from the Russian Tradition series.
Riders will show tricks and elements of the applied and military equestrian sport and skillful use of the Cossack weapons.
Guests of the estate will be offered to take part in a master class from Pavel Polyakov. This young man is an absolute three-time champion of Russia in Jighitovka. The athlete will tell about the history of Russian Cossacks and devote viewers in particulars on the Russian cavalry and horse breeding.
In addition, during special workshops, held by professional riders, children will learn how to brush and saddle the horses.

MOSCOW VELONOTTE 2015

The annual Velonotte is devoted to the history of the 80 anniversary of the Moscow metro this year. In fact, the 30 kilometers ride will be a mass excursion through the center of the capital with the most interesting stories about the subway. The organizers invite participants to dress up in the colors of the subway line, at which they live – to find neighbors and new friends.
The event has appeared nine years ago in Moscow. For the past years, it has been held in Rome, London, New York, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Moscow.
The ride will start at 00:00 from Sokolniki metro station and finish about 5:00 – 5:30 near Dinamo station.
Any adult person can take part in the race after registration at the project’s site and paying a fee of 299 rubles (€3.01).
