Night at the Zoo will be held in Moscow on April 19. On this day, it will be possible to stay at the territory after the closing time and learn about the nightlife of the zoo’s inhabitants. Employees promise to tell interesting stories about animals. Thus, visitors will hear about elephant Mauricus that went to the bakery for bread, about a penguin riding in the elevator, or about walruses flying in business class.
There will also pass two-hour excursions in the Museum of the Zoo History for visitors over 12 years at 18.00 and 19.00. Moreover, at 18.00 and 20.00, you can visit a tour «One day at the zoo …» that will last for two hours. Minimal age of participation is eight years.
In addition, master classes on drawing and modeling, as well as games and quizzes about animals will take place during The Night at the Zoo.

5TH MOSCOW BEER FESTIVAL

Flacon Design Factory will hold an event for everyone who is interested in home brewing, already brews beer at home or wants to start doing it.
Together with a ticket, visitors of the 5th Moscow Beer Festival will get a pen and a booklet to mark their favorite brands – it is necessary to summarize the results of the Best Beer contest. In addition, buying a ticket for 500 rubles (€5.03), you provide yourself with tasting fresh beer in unlimited quantities. In total, the festival will present 123 types of beer from four dozen home brewers – and this is only the official counting.
Competitions and prize raffles, in which everybody will, certainly, want to participate after a couple of glasses of beer are also in the festival’s program.

The First Balabanov’s Readings, which will be held this weekend in Moscow and St. Petersburg, aim to start a new phase in understanding work of Alexei Balabanov.
Within the Readings, the Pioner Cinema will show Henning Carlsen’s Hunger (1966) – one of the most important films for understanding Balabanov’s creativity.
Hunger (Denmark, Norway, Sweden) is a film adaptation of Knut Hamsun’s novel written in first person, one of the most famous Scandinavian films in the history, co-production of the three countries, shown in competition at Cannes and brought best Actor prize for the leading actor Peru Oscarsson. This is a story that took place at the end of the XIX century in the north of Christiania (Oslo in future), a story about a dying of hunger and humiliation young writer. A Beggar, proud to foolishness, in vain love, surrounded by indifferent people, the hero of the film is one of the most penetrating ‘little man’ of the world cinema.
Maria Kuvshinova, film critic, chief editor of Seance magazine, author of the first biography of Aleksei Balabanov will present the film to the audience.
The screening will take place on April 19 at 21.00.

FOOD TRUCKS FESTIVAL

Small vans that sell food in the streets are called food trucks. This weekend they will gather at Krasnaya Presnya Park at the street food festival. Incidentally, this is the first time in the history of the capital, when the vans specially equipped to sale food, gather in one place.
The organizer of this gastronomic festival is a non-profit organization Local Food that supports and promotes gastro-entrepreneurs.
Food trucks are equipped with everything needed to prepare delicious dishes of varying complexity. In total, there will be about 20 mobile restaurants, selling tasty food at the festival. It will also be possible to discuss the experience of conducting such business, peculiarities of Russian market, as well as to taste the range of dishes and chat with other fans of ‘Meals on Wheels’.
